Unless any unforeseen circumstances arise, those eagerly anticipating the next move of former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and immediate past governor of Imo State, Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha may need to exercise patience until after the memorial service for his late mother.
Recent weeks have witnessed a flurry of media reports speculating on calls for Ihedioha to depart from the PDP.
Despite his longstanding affiliation with the party, having served as its member and securing notable electoral victories, including his tenure as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, dissatisfaction within the PDP ranks has prompted suggestions for Ihedioha to explore alternative political avenues.
Nonetheless, Ihedioha has yet to formally address these calls to leave the PDP. Neither he nor his media team have issued any responses regarding the matter, leaving observers anticipating his stance.
Although it was anticipated that Ihedioha might broach the topic during his recent birthday celebration, no such remarks were forthcoming.
A reliable source within Ihedioha’s circle, who is also associated with his Rebuild Imo Political family, disclosed to TheHeartlander that Ihedioha is presently in a period of mourning following the loss of his mother last year.
Consequently, he is not inclined to engage with the issue until after the one-year mourning period concludes.
The source affirmed, “You know he lost his mother last year and is still grieving. He is not emotionally prepared to address such matters until after completing one year of mourning for his late mother.”
