IMSU Set to Expel 238 Students Over Fake Admission Letters

…Accuses Hackers, Scammers As Reason

Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri, has announced its intention to expel a significant number, precisely two hundred and thirty-eight students, embroiled in a scandalous scheme concerning counterfeit admission letters.

In a resolute caution to both the perpetrators and their collaborators, the university’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Ralph Njoku, revealed that these students, along with their parents and guardians, orchestrated a sophisticated plot involving the manipulation of both the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and IMSU websites. This elaborate scheme aimed to create false admission letters, deceiving the prestigious institution about their enrollment.

During an official press statement released on Tuesday, Njoku highlighted the severity of the situation, emphasizing that individuals brandishing these fabricated documents are not recognized as bonafide students of Imo State University.

He stated, “Parents should be mindful that the actions of these swindlers have significantly jeopardized the future of their children and wards.” The university’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of its admission process and protecting the authenticity of its student body is evident in the decisive action taken against those involved in this deceptive act.

Njoku further highlighted the detrimental consequences of such fraudulent activities, not only on the academic standing of the affected individuals but also on the reputation of the institution itself. The press statement emphasized the need for a thorough investigation and strict disciplinary measures to ensure that the sanctity of the university’s academic processes is preserved.

As the university gears up to implement these expulsions, the message is clear: any attempt to compromise the admission system will not be tolerated, and stringent actions will be taken to maintain the credibility and honor of Imo State University.
